NOTICE OF HEARING
TENTATIVE BUDGET AND APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the PROSPECT HEIGHTS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT has or will have prepared a Tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance of said District for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held December 9, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Prospect Heights Fire Protection District Station, 10 E. Camp McDonald Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois, pursuant to statute. Final action on said ordinance will be taken by the Board of Trustees of the Prospect Heights Fire Protection District, at a meeting thereof to be held on December 9, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at said location. The Tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for said District for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025 is or will be conveniently available in pamphlet form for inspection at the Fire House during normal business hours.

Progress Report:
- 845 Design Group are our architects for the firehouse remodeling and improvement. Planning and project development underway.
- New mobile radios for all vehicles installed.
- New personal protective gear delivered and in use.
- New Aerial Ladder Truck now in service answering calls.
- Two new Ambulances ordered. Delivery expected in mid-2026 (this delay is now typical of all manufactueres)
- Remaining projects will be undertaken in early 2025.

We are excited that Illinois American Water has awarded the Prospect Heights Fire Protection District $1,000 for improving its response capabilities. Without water, firefighters are ineffective at suppressing fires. We will use the money to upgrade our fire hydrant connection kits on all pumpers.

PH Firefighters Train for Aircraft Fires

Last week Prospect Heights and Wheeling firefighters conducted annual Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting training using a mobile fire training prop. Evolutions were conducted at Chicago Executive Airport and presented by ARFF Specialists of Minnesota. Three days of training, one for each of the three shifts, was conducted and more than 60 firefighters from the two departments participated.

Three New Firefighters for PH

On Friday, September 6 Matthew Coffee, Brendon Brinkley, and Marco Pahos graduated from the NIPSTA Fire Academy in Glenview. All three had completed the nine-week/400-plus hour training program. These new firefighters will participate in a one-week orientation to the Prospect Heights FD this week then start working shifts as a duty crew member. Prospect Heights Firefighterss Free Stuck Child

On Monday, February 19 the Red Shift's crew freed a child who got his finger stuck the telescope on the playground equipment at the Gary Morava Center. The crew didn't miss a beat.
